With the help of our generous family of donors we are able to provide exceptional and creative educational options within the Oakland community. Like Mutulu Shakur, "we strongly believe that our future is in the hands of the young folks." So thank you for investing in our collective futures!
We welcome you to attend one of our events--experience the change you help us make.

Help us reach our roots deeper into 1434 34th Avenue--Oakland Leaf's new home since July 2008. The new Mother Garden Community Center houses the beautiful and meaningful work of Youth Roots as well as Oakland Leaf's administration. You can help revitalize the space by contributing to us in ways other than donating money:
You can help us by giving:
*Ecologically-sound cleaning supplies
*Locking filing cabinets
*Gardening tools
*Outdoor shelving/storage
*Coffee maker
*Digital cameras
*Office chairs
*Spanish language children's books
*Shredder
*Color printer
*Small refrigerator
*Ceiling or wall pot rack
*Small business phone system
*Gift Cards for Office Depot, CostCo or grocery stores (Lucky's and Farmer Joe's are nearest to Mother Garden)
Also, you can contribute directly by donating your time:
*Gardening
*Tidying indoors or out
*Cooking for Youth Roots (between September and June)
*Installing our murals from Oakland Peace Camp and ASCEND Sunset Warriors
While we are deeply grateful for all you give, please contact us before dropping off or sending anything. We welcome any ideas you may have as well. We encourage you to donate used, functional items. You can contact Louise Joanes our Administrative Assistant at lj.oaklandleaf@gmail.com.
