Mirella Rangel grew up in the Bay Area and México. She became a leader in the student movement in UC Berkeley while earning her bachelors degree in Environmental Science. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she taught middle school math and science in East Oakland, and soon became the school's principal and teacher coach. Mirella has witnessed the blossoming of her two beautiful children and Oakland Leaf since 2005. She became the Executive Director of Oakland Leaf in 2007 and has continued the legacy of cultivating community transformation.
