Bekki grew up on the west coast, ultimately nestling herself in the Bay Area in 2000, earning BA’s in economics and English from UC Berkeley in 2004. She gave her time briefly to different fields, including retail bookselling, librarianship, small business management, legal defense, and non-profit education after graduating. As her days in the corporate salt-mines ended, she rediscovered the comforts of writing, illustrating, and music. Along the way, she married someone who unwittingly reminds her everyday to appreciate the art in simply living.
At Mother Garden, she dons her Clark Kent administrative horn rims to help cultivate some of the most worthy of causes—the undeniable potential of youth, the growth of urban art and true community.
