OAKLAND PEACE CAMP – CALL FOR STUDENT APPLICATIONS

Now in its 11th year, Oakland Peace Camp (OPC) is a FREE three-week summer camp for over 100 youth – 10 to 18 years old, that utilizes a project-based arts, social justice, and science based curriculum. OPC will be held between July 7 and July 25, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, in Oakland.

This year’s theme of “Love Is An Action” challenges students and staff alike to examine and express what love for self, their community, and humanity looks like in action. Oakland Peace Camp emphasizes youth empowerment, arts-based learning, community activism, cultural literacy, and reflection. Peace Camp helps build a cohesive community by encouraging Oakland Leaf students, interns, and families to interact and learn from each other.
